KRISTINE ALLEN, MEZZO Soprano/ ALTO

Kristine Allen, mezzo soprano/alto, sings classical music, Broadway & folk tunes. She has appeared as "Barbarina" in "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Gianetta" in "The Elixir of Love" with Harrisburg Opera. She has sung in recitals throughout central Pennsylvania and at St. Thomas Church in New York City. She is founder and artistic director of the early music ensemble, Myrthe in which she also plays violin and percussion. She has sung Broadway show tunes with the Back Alley Players, of which she is also a founding member. She is an avid folk fiddler and singer, having performed with The Laune Rangers, The Arcona Reel Band and Empty Hats. Kristine has been an avid actress since the age of 5, appearing as "Constanze" in "Amadeus", "Babe" in "Crimes of the Heart", "Doris" in "Same Time Next Year" and "Nan/Lina" in "Three Days of Rain", among many other roles. She regularly performs with the Next Stage Theatre Company. She lives in State College, PA, where she is Program Director of public radio station WPSU-FM.
